Time of Use pricing: How it works to help you save

Our Time of Use pricing model means you pay different rates for the energy you export and import depending on the time of day. Here’s a bit more about what Time of Use pricing is, and how you can make the most of it.

What's Time of Use pricing?

Our Time of Use pricing model means you pay different rates for the energy you export and import to and from the grid, depending on the time of day and whether it’s in a peak, shoulder or off-peak period.

It’s a shift from fixed rates throughout the day, but continues to be a stress-free, behind-the-scenes process managed by both your battery, and our team of experts. We optimise your battery around the clock, buying and selling energy when it makes the most sense according to price fluctuations.

What are the Time of Use periods?

Below are the details of the grid energy rates you’ll be charged throughout the day. Take note of the off-peak periods, as these are the best times to charge and power large appliances like EVs or dishwashers. The more energy use you can shift into the off-peak period, the more you are able to save.
